PLAY LACROSSE

If your son or daughter is interested in playing lacrosse in Hoover this spring, walk through the registration process below. Once you're registered, click the links to find equipment you'll need and how to get started practicing at home! If you have more questions about registration and getting started with lacrosse, please contact HYLO!

USA Lacrosse Membership

Each lacrosse athlete, coach, and referee must have a USA Lacrosse membership. This membership provides insurance for all lacrosse programs and is required to participate in the GBYLA program. Click here to begin.

Purchase Equipment

If you're new to lacrosse, there is some equipment you'll need to purchase. You can find boys' sets here and girls' starter sets here.

Practice at Home

Just like any sport, the more you work at home, the better prepared you'll be for practice and games! Wall ball will help your athlete develop the stick skills they need to succeed!

Register at GBYLA

The Greater Birmingham Youth Lacrosse Association governs all lacrosse activities in the area. To register, click here, find your child's age group, and click the button to sign up.

Download LeagueApps

We use LeagueApps to communicate with teams throughout the season. Coaches will use this to provide practice updates and game schedules. You can find LeagueApps in your app store!

What does your registration pay for?

When you register your player, you'll pay a fee based on the GBYLA base fee and the Community Program Fee. These fees provide referees, field space, coaching training & equipment, league operations, and tournament expenses. It does not include player equipment or uniforms. HYLO is working hard to remove the cost barrier for new players. If you're interested in becoming a sponsor, click here. We also have a lacrosse equipment buy, sell, & trade group on Facebook.
