Even though lacrosse is a spring sport, we start training this month! January in Alabama may not be as cold as our northern friends, but it still gets chilly out on the fields. So how do we prepare our players to play in the cold? Here are a few tips:
Base Layers - winter weather base layers for upper and lower body are essential.
Outer Layers - Sweatpants like these can help keep your kids warm. During practices, sweatshirts and hoodies are recommended.
Gloves - A secret weapon for keeping your kids' hands warm during cold weather lacrosse is latex gloves under their lacrosse gloves. To learn more about it, check out this video. For girls, you can purchase gloves specifically designed for girls' lacrosse.
We hope this helps as you prepare your kids for some cold-weather lacrosse! See you on the fields!
